Corrigendum to “Short-term exposure to ambient air pollutants and Herpes zoster risk: a nationwide case-crossover analysis” [Environ. Res. 2026, 124782]

The authors regret that the Highlights were not updated to reflect revisions made during the review process. Specifically, all content related to postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) was removed from the manuscript during revision; however, the corresponding bullet point in the Highlights was inadvertently retained. The Highlights should read as follows: (1) Short-term exposure to ambient air pollutants was associated with increased herpes zoster incidence in a nationwide cohort. (2) Associations were more pronounced among adults aged ≥50 years and socioeconomically disadvantaged groups. (3) Air quality may represent a modifiable environmental factor relevant to herpes zoster risk management. (4) These findings suggest the potential value of integrating environmental monitoring into public health strategies for aging populations.
