청소년 비행의 측정모형에 대한 제언: 합성변수, 반영적 지표변수, 형성적 지표변수의 비교를 통해서

The purpose of this study is to purpose a valid measurement model for juveline delinquency by comparing composite variable, reflective and formative indicator variables. To this end, three different measures of delinquency were compared for their effects on parameter estimation, based on the results of Hwang and Lee(2013). For the purpose of the study, the 2,280 participants taken from the second year in middle school from Korean Children and Youth Panel survey were analyzed. Delinquency variable was measured by composite variable, exploratory factor analysis(factor score), and principal component analysis(component score) with 13 items. For juvenile delinquency measured in three methods, multiple regression analysis was conducted with failure to achieve goals, extinction of positive stimuli, impulsiveness, anxiety, depression, friend tension and parental tension as predictors. The results showed that the statistical significance and size of regression coefficients for predictor varied depending on the measurement model. The study confirmed the importance of selecting a measurement model for estimating juvenile delinquency. Suggestions for measuring juvenile delinquency based on the results were discussed.
