<오징어 게임>(2021)에 나타난 기억의 의미와 재해석: 마리안느 허쉬의 포스트메모리 이론을 중심으로

초록

Today, the perception that the fundamental solution to social problems is the formation of empathy is expanding, and the importance of empathy is being talked about in discussions in various areas. In this situation, video contents using devices that induce empathy are gaining huge popularity, and in this study, based on Marianne Hirsh's post-memory theory, how empathy using memory is expressed in the work, focusing on Hwang Dong-hyuk's <Squid Game>(2021). As a result of the study, <Squid Game>(2021) made use of media characteristics to provide a device that evokes nostalgia for past games, various reversal events in the play have become devices that draw viewers' sympathy based on individual memories, and finally, past facts and experiences that anyone can dismiss as obvious facts are interpreted differently. In other words, the case of <Squid Game>(2021), which was noted in this study, was preparing a device that effectively realized the value of empathy through the transmission structure of memory.
