『수현기』 법계연기설의 지(智)에 대한 분석

This paper aims to analyze Zhiyan’s Dharma-dhātu Dependent Origination theory presented in the Souxuanji, which is widely regarded as a representative model of Huayan's dependent origination from Dharma-dhātu. To explain the practical aspects of Zhiyan’s Dharma-dhātu Dependent Origination theory, an understanding of jñāna is indispensable. In light of the above scholarly concerns, this study reviews the interpretations of jñāna found in previous research, clarifies the divergence of opinion among them, and emphasizes the need to clearly define the various concepts of jñāna as a key issue to address. To tackle this task, the study adopts the framework of the three types of Nirvikalpa-jñāna found in the Mahāyānasaṃgraha to elucidate the role and significance of jñāna in Zhiyan’s Dharma-dhātu Dependent Origination theory. The study concludes that, in Zhiyan’s theory, jñāna constitutes the core concept in the attainment of samyag-jñāna (正體智) through the cultivation of prayoga-jñāna (加行智). This highlights the practical significance of jñāna in emboding Dharma-dhātu Dependent Origination. In other words, the purpose of explaining this theory is to enable practitioners to awaken to it, with the practice of prayoga-jñāna and the attainment of fundamental Nirvikalpa-jñāna being essential stages in the cultivation process.
