비행청소년의 문제도박 실태 및 특성 유형화 연구

초록

The study aims at identifying different types of youth problem gamblers by using cluster analysis. Juvenile delinquents assigned to probation offices are targed to conduct the classification of youth gambling behaviors in South Korea. In particular, the current study focuses on classification of juvenile delinquents in terms of their problem gambling behaviors by using survey data sets. This study used 189 cases of juvenile delinquents with help of Korean Ministry of Justice. The cluster analysis results demonstrated that five different groups can be drawn from that analysis, which include impulsive gambling youths, rational gambling transition youths, peer group related gambling addiction youths, peer group related gambling addiction with low self-control, impulsive gambling transition youths with low self-control. Further policy implications will be discussed.
