The purpose of this study is to explore ways to improve police officers' emotional organizational commitment to performing their duties in a changing investigative environment. Based on the analysis of the literature, factors for enhancing police officers' emotional organizational commitment were extracted and in-depth interviews were conducted with 12 current and retired police officers. On the basis of the findings, the following recommendations have been made for the improvement of organizational commitment The first is to improve incentives for investigating officers, for example by shortening the promotion period and compensating salaries in line with the increased workload. The second is to need to strengthen the fairness of performance evaluations in the promotion system. Finally, there is a need to strengthen the capacity of commanders and increase staffing levels to prevent investigators from leaving the organization. In addition, methodological limitations were discussed.
