대학생 칼럼의 미숙한 표현 고찰: 공공언어가 갖춰야 할 요건을 중심으로

This study analyzed the problems that appeared in university students' column, focusing on the standard requiremen that public and official languages should have. Detailed problems were detected in terms of the accuracy, publicity, informability, and legibility, which are four opposing items. First, the problem of rough use of upper words that have a bigger meaning than the meaning to be expressed, and the problem of using simple, exaggerated, or outdated colloquial expressions appeared in part of “accuracy of expression”. Second, the use of slang or violent words and indiscriminate abuse of English-style words were identified as major problems that disturb “publicity”. Third, a introduction written only with micro information without macro information, or excessive information is contained in the lead sentence, or a paragraph in which the amount of information does not increase while number of sentence increases were analyzed as problems in terms of “informmability”. Finally, several problems also appeared in terms of “legibility”, such as the miss-placement of titles, the method of text alignment, and the adjustment of the spacing between the letters and lines. Through this, it was possible to understand in what kind of problems students have. On the other hand, many analysis of students' writing problems have been conducted in terms of ‘accuracy of notation’, but nothing has been done in terms of ‘publicity, informability, and legibility’. As a result of analyzing students' writings with an unfamiliar framework of public language, the great harvest of this study was that they were able to find new problems that had not been noticed so far.
