텍스트마이닝을 활용한 국내 스포츠 관련 키워드 추이 분석: COVID-19 팬데믹 전개 단계에 따른 변화를 중심으로

The domestic sports industry recorded strong growth from 2015 to 2019 but faced a sharp declinein 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This decline is primarily attributed to the sports industry’sinsufficient response to the pandemic. Accordingly, this study analyzes the shift in the interests of domesticsports consumers due to COVID-19, proposing a direction for the sports industry suitable for the newnormal era and strategies for pandemic preparedness. To achieve this, blog posts from Naver spanning 2019(pre-COVID-19) through 2020, 2021, and 2022 were collected to explore trends in sports interests in Korea. Specifically, text mining techniques, including frequency analysis, TF-IDF, and LDA topic modeling, wereutilized to examine the yearly changes in keyword trends. The analysis revealed that while most sportsdisciplines and related areas showed significant fluctuations during the initial phase of the pandemic, theygradually returned to normalization. However, certain keywords, such as golf, which were less affected byCOVID-19, demonstrated a consistent upward trend from the onset. Based on these findings, theoreticalimplications regarding the changes in sports interests during the pandemic and practical recommendationsfor the sports industry were provided. This study contributes by proposing directions for the sports industryin the new normal era and by developing strategies to prepare for future pandemics.
