초록
In 1966, during the process of organizing the land around the five-story stone pagoda at Bongeopsa Temple Site in Anseong, approximately 60 Buddhist artifacts were excavated. These Buddhist artifacts can be divided into offering utensils, Buddhist Musical Instruments, and Buddhist ornaments. The Bronze Incense Burner with three legs, which preceded the Dakang 7th year Bronze Incense Burner made in 1081, was excavated, and the Buddhist gong was excavated somewhat later than the Buddhist gong with inscription Zhengyou 5th year made in 1217, so the production period can be estimated to be from before 1081 to after 1217. Meanwhile, the sarira reliquaries founeded in the five-story stone pagoda at Bongeopsa Temple Site can be dated to the early Goryeo period, so it can be considered to be from the mid-to-late 10th century. Therefore, the Buddhist artifacts excavated from Bongyeopsa Temple Site before the excavation can be estimated to have been produced from the mid-to-late 10th century to the early 13th century. Buddhist artifacts unearthed from the excavation can be divided into be divided into offering utensils, Buddhist Musical Instruments, and Buddhist ornaments, but these artifacts appear to be unrelated to the burial relics and are estimated to have been produced in the 11th to 13th centuries. The Buddhist artifacts unearthed in 1966 are presumed to be so-called Buddhist hoarding relics, and “the Buddhist gong with inscription the 5th Year of Zhengyou” and “Buddhist gong” are presumed to have been used as external containers when digging a pit and burying burial relics. The Buddhist artifacts unearthed in 1966 are presumed to have been buried during the battle with the Mongolian army at Jukjusanseong Fortress in 1237. According to the “Fayuanjurin(法苑珠林)” and “Vinaya of the Mahāsāṅghikas(摩訶僧祇律)”, when temple valuables are stolen due to external circumstances, hiding or burying them is not permitted, but it seems that temple valuables were exceptionally buried underground during times of national turmoil. The Buddhist artifacts unearthed in 1966 the vicinity of the five-story stone pagoda at Bongyeopsa Temple are thought to be a kind of the Buddhist hoarding relics.
