Development of Items for the Social Skills and Cooperative Performance Scale (SCP Scale) and Application to Virtual Reality: Based Cooperative Games

초록

Purpose : The aim of this study was to develop a Social Skills and Cooperative Performance Scale (SCP Scale) for use as a simple screening tool. We also aimed to verify its validity and reliability through a virtual reality-based cooperative game. Methods : Socialization concepts were chosen through a literature review, forming the basis for the scale. Content validity was verified with a two-round Delphi survey by experts. Reliability was examined through inter-rater reliability analysis. Thirty typically developing children played a VR-based cooperative game, with scores assessed by two therapists to confirm reliability. Results : SCP Scale consists of nine social skills and one item regarding cooperative performance. Social skill items include (1) ”Initiation and termination,” (2) “Verbal speech production,” (3) “Nonverbal expression,” (4) “Expressing opinions,” (5) “Expressing emotions,” (6) “Accepting and responding to emotion,” (7) “Questions and responses,” (8) “Timing in communication,” and (9) “Accommodation and adaptation in terms of interaction.” Delphi results confirmed content validity (CVR ≥ .42), with high inter-rater reliability (.977 for social skills, .981 for cooperative performance. Conclusion : The SCP Scale shows promise as a clinical tool for evaluating children’s cooperation- related social skills. Further studies with larger samples are needed to validate its efficacy.
