웹소설 <나 혼자만 레벨업> 하마르티아 변용 연구 : 주인공 성진우를 중심으로

초록

This study elucidates the tragic aesthetics of the web novel Solo Leveling by applying Aristotle’s concept of Hamartia to its internal narrative mechanisms. The research reveals that protagonist Sung Jinwoo’s hamartia—an altruistic but flawed "blind faith in power"—is uniquely transformed by the web novel's "system." Rather than causing his ruin, his dogmatic isolation drives overwhelming growth. However, this merely transfers the tragic modality. Upon reaching the pinnacle as the "Shadow Monarch," Jinwoo faces absolute solitude and the permanent severance of human connections. Defining this phenomenon as a "tragedy without ruin," this study exposes the existential alienation concealed beneath the catharsis of modern success narratives. Ultimately, it validates Aristotle's Poetics as an effective critical tool for dissecting digital narratives, re-illuminating the literary depth of web novel hero structures.
