외상의 질곡에서 그녀들은 어떻게 성장해 왔는가? :일본군 ‘위안부’ 피해 여성 노인의 삶의 경험

초록

The purpose of this study was to reveal the main meaning of post-traumatic growth in the lives of elderly women who were victims of Japanese military ‘comfort women’, and to obtain practical implications on how social support for these elderly women who survive in Korea is possible. To this end, this study analyzed the life areas of five elderly women who were victims of Japanese military “comfort women” according to the steps of qualitative content analysis suggested by Elo and Kygἅs (2008). As a result of the analysis, the life process of the elderly women who were victims of the Japanese military ‘comfort women’ could be divided into two areas. Its domains are ‘a life freed from the Japanese military ‘comfort women’’ and ‘a life as a women’s rights activist who started at the end of her life’. Through this, 'a failed marriage', 'a life that was rushed to live', 'there are small happinesses that became a reason to live', 'a great secret that was revealed only after several decades', 'awareness that I am not a shameful being', 'The path of healing that has only begun in my later years', 'The life of an activist who takes the lead in protecting women's human rights around the world', 'The life of a righteous donor', 'Exchange and empathy with future generations', 'The reward of life achieved in the last years', 'Dozens A total of 12 sub-themes were derived, such as 'the scars of trauma that are repeated over the years' and 'the work of my life that has to be done'.Based on the above research results, some discussion points were suggested that can socially support the post-traumatic growth of elderly women who were victims of Japanese military “comfort women”.
