기업의 환경경영정책과 기술혁신성과 사이의 관계

초록

As the environmental problems have escalated, scholars have focused on a relationship between firms’ environmental management policies and their competitiveness. Previously, the literature classified environmental management policies into reactive and proactive types. This study elaborates environmental management policies by three types and analyzes the relationship between environmental management policies and firms’ technological innovation performance. This study conducted an empirical analysis of 3,925 manufacturing firms using the 2010 Korea Innovation Survey. It finds that environmental management policies aiming at future government environmental policies and taxes and environmental market exploitation are positively associated with firms’ technological innovation performance. However, one for voluntary environmental programs showed statistically insignificant results. It contributes to the literature by connecting firms’ motivations and environmental management policies and analyzing the relationship between three environmental management policies and firms’ technological innovation performance. In addition, firms can choose appropriate environmental management policies based on the comparative analysis results for environmental management policies.
