滿洲國 高級小學校 『國史敎科書』의 서술 내용과 성격

This paper analyzes the content of the National History Textbook for Advanced Elementary Schools(『高級小學校·國史敎科書』) published by the Ministry of Education of Manchukuo in 1935, with a focus on elucidating its characteristics. The establishment of Manchukuo as a form of an independent state under Japanese colonial rule necessitates an understanding of its dual identity characterized by both "autonomy" and "coloniality." This study aims to concretely approach the colonial logic that Japan sought to impose on Manchukuo by examining the descriptions and characteristics presented in the Guidebook for the National History Textbook(『高級小學校·國史敎科書敎授書』). In Chapter 1, the analysis centers on the pedagogical objectives and aims of the textbook, structuring the narrative of nation-building legitimacy. Chapter 2 explores how the founding spirit of Manchukuo is articulated in the textbook, aiming to elucidate the intent to internalize this narrative among individuals and groups. Chapter 3 examines the narrative structure that seeks to trace the historical relationship between Manchukuo and Japan, thereby integrating the two. Through this analysis, the paper contributes to a deeper understanding of how the textbook reflects and reinforces the colonial ideologies of Japanese governance in Manchukuo.
