산업-지역 적합성의 역학: 창업생태계가 스타트업 성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 시뮬레이션 기반 분석

초록
This study develops and validates the Industry-Region Fit (IRF) framework through simulation-based analysis of entrepreneurial ecosystem interactions affecting startup performance. Unlike previous research focusing on individual factors, this study emphasizes dynamic interactions between industry specialization, network strength, and institutional support specialization. We adopted simulation methodology to isolate multilayered interactions difficult to observe in real-world settings. Analyzing 1,000 startups across five major U.S. hubs (Silicon Valley, Boston, New York, Pittsburgh, Austin) during 2019-2023, we found higher industry specialization significantly increases startup survival probability (hazard ratio=0.65, p<.001), with network strength positively moderating this relationship (interaction hazard ratio=0.61, p<.001). Institutional support specialization enhanced growth rates (β=0.062, p<.01). High-level combinations across all dimensions showed 30 percentage points higher survival rates, demonstrating synergistic effects. Effects were strongest in knowledge-intensive industries like IT and biotechnology (IT hazard ratio=0.58, p<.001). This study contributes by integrating cluster, network, and institutional theories into a cohesive framework. Findings suggest the importance of integrated approaches considering ecosystem complementarities rather than single-factor interventions in regional entrepreneurship policy formulation.
