This study employed Q-methodology to explore the subjective perception types and characteristics of child-based self-worth among mothers of children in elementary, middle, and high school. A Q-sample of 40 statements was constructed through literature review and in-depth interviews, and 43 mothers were selected as the P-sample for Q-sorting. The analysis identified four distinct perception types. Type 1 is Independent Separation, which exhibited high self-differentiation by clearly separating children's achievements from the mother's own value. Type 2 is Achievement-dependent Devotion, which perceived children's success as the core achievement and reward of the maternal role. Type 3 is Ambivalent Fusion, showing an ambivalent structure where cognitive independence and emotional fusion coexisted. Type 4 is Emotion-centered Control, where children's performance influenced the mother's emotional stability. By exploring maternal subjective perceptions of child-based self-worth, this study provides foundational data for establishing customized intervention strategies based on mothers' perceptual characteristics in counseling settings.
