초록
Singing is not a mere sequence of pitches, but a dynamic flow in which emotion and narrative are organically intertwined. Within this flow, high notes serve as a crucial expressive element that conveys heightened emotional intensity and dramatic tension. Accordingly, stable high-note production and precise vocal control are essential skills for effective musical performance. High-pitched singing involves considerable technical difficulty and is referred to by various terms such as belting, mix voice, and legit, each encompassing distinct acoustic characteristics and physiological mechanisms. However, current high-note training methods commonly employed in vocal pedagogy reveal notable limitations, including unstable register transitions from low to high range and an increased risk of vocal fold overuse. This study addresses these challenges by proposing a strategy to improve the stability and efficiency of high-note production through the use of the Estill Siren, one of the key training tools in Estill Voice Training (EVT). The Estill Siren facilitates smooth vocal transitions across the entire pitch range and is recognized as a practical tool for identifying and controlling register shifts. In addition, it serves a valuable function in both warm-up and cool-down routines by enhancing laryngeal stability and flexibility. Through a theoretical investigation into high-pitched singing as demanded in various musical genres, and an analysis of applied cases of the Siren technique, this study aims to suggest a practical and replicable approach to high-note training that reflects both vocal science and pedagogical applicability.
