In this article, Figure 2, panels Group III day 3 and Group IV day 5, appear to depict the same source image, but are described as representing different experimental samples. The figure was adopted from reference [40] on the reference list, which has since been corrected with a corrigendum, and the duplicated image has been replaced with the correct one. The reference to the corrigendum with the correct image is the following. For the corrected version of the duplicated images (Figure 2, Group III Day 3 and Group IV Day 5) and the updated caption, readers are referred to the official correction note of the original article available at https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/microbiology/articles/10.3389/fmicb.2026.1817152/full.
