합법사행산업 및 불법도박 경험집단의 유사성과 차이점에 대한 비교 연구

초록

The main purpose of this study is to explore the direction of effective illegal gambling prevention policies and a better understanding of the phenomenon of illegal gambling by comparing the major differences between the two groups of experience in the legal gambling industry and illegal gambling. Therefore, this study analyzed the differences in the inducing and inhibiting factors of illegal gambling by group, focusing on major socio-demographic characteristics, gambling industry and illegal gambling experience status, motivations for participating in the gambling industry and illegal gambling, reasons for preferring illegal gambling, and awareness of illegal gambling response policies. The research data was obtained by conducting a survey at Kangwon Land and Busan Let's Run Park from October 25 to November 9, 2024, and using a total of 1,042 legal gambling industry users. The analysis results showed that 436 users of the legal gambling industry had experienced illegal gambling, indicating that gambling industry and illegal gambling experience tend to overlap rather than being independent. The motivations for participating in the legal gambling industry and illegal gambling also showed numerical differences between the groups, but the order of importance was similar, supporting the previous results. On the other hand, in terms of illegal gambling response policies, the illegal gambling experience group supported deregulation policies, while the illegal gambling non-experience group supported suppression-oriented policies, confirming a clear difference in perception according to illegal gambling experience in illegal gambling response policies.
