편견과 차별에 관한 다문화교육 게임 콘텐츠 설계 및 개발 사례

This study developed multicultural education game content designed for practical implementation in schools, where multicultural education is incorporated as an interdisciplinary learning theme for over two hours annually. In response to the demand for educational materials that align with students’ interests and participatory, learner-centered teaching methods in multicultural education, the study introduces an innovative approach using game-based learning. Focusing on the core theme of prejudice and discrimination, the study presents the creation of Beyond Differences: AI Detective Team, a game tailored for elementary and middle school students as an alternative to traditional text-based materials or videos. The development process involved collaboration between a research team and a development team, with expert reviews validating the research framework and final design. The game adheres to key design principles, including: (1) emphasizing digital and AI literacy, learner autonomy, and collaborative interaction; (2) aligning educational content with learner’s developmental stages and interests; and (3) fostering digital and multicultural competencies through gameplay and associated learning activities. Additionally, the study provides a basic teaching guide to support the integration of the game into classrooms, enhancing both the practicality and accessibility. This research demonstrates the potential of game-based learning as a dynamic tool for addressing critical issues in multicultural education while promoting active engagement and skill development among students.
