OTT 드라마 <더 글로리>에 나타난 창세기 모티프 요소 연구 : 에덴빌라와 주인공을 중심으로

The OTT drama <The Glory> is a revenge drama of Dong-eun, the main character who suffered school violence. Dong-eun, who has not received help from anywhere, such as her family, school or society, does not believe in the existence of God. And even if it exists, she thinks that it is not on her side. So she is trying to punishment perpetrators by herself. After the success of revenge, she realizes that she also had a god too. In <The Glory> there is the element of Genesis motif in Eden apartment and the main character. Eden apartment is reminiscent of the Garden of Eden from its name. The story of Garden of Eden, which symbolizes ‘human depravity’, had made up of ‘God, Adam and Haw, the fruit of the tree of knowledge, and snake’. And each element can be found in Eden apartment. Snake that seduced humans in Genesis are known as crafty animal, but at the same time, they can be interpreted as wise and liberate victims of violence like her. Dong-eun, who lives in Eden apartment, appears as a reveler snake that exposes the truth like the fruit of tree of knowledge to the perpetrators, and appears as a enlightening snake to the victims who have the same pain as herself. She seduces the perpetrators and people around them into the pit of revenge, and teaches the victims that there is a way to escape the violence. This study analyzes the Garden of Eden and snake in the theoretical background, and interprets how Eden apartment and the main character contain the Genesis motif elements. This study is meaningful to confirm and present the possibility and definition of a storytelling method composed of religious imagination.
