『유가론기(瑜伽論記)』에 나타난 혜경(惠景)의 심식설(心識說)

Hye-kyung is the leader in Yugasajiron (瑜伽師地論) of the time, and is the most frequently cited scholar in Dunlun's Yugaron-gi. In this article, his thoughts was examined, focusing on quotes closely related to ālaya-vijñāna (阿賴耶識). Although he is a scholar who mastered literature of the new and old consciousness-only school, he shares the fundamental perspective of later theory of consciousness-only established by the newly translated texts in chinese. First of all, he accepted the theory of eight-consciousness centered on the eighth ālaya-vijñāna established by hyonjang (玄奘)'s successors, while questioning the theory of nine-consciousness which was popular among old scholars. His comprehensive perspective of ālaya-vijñāna is found in the interpretation of “Seeds-support (種子依) is sarvabijaka-ālaya-vijñāna (一切種子阿賴耶識)”. According him, this phrase primarily means sarvabijaka-vijñāna (一切種子識) and, as such consciousness, it combines not only the seed of kleśa (煩惱), but also the seed of undefiled tathāgata (如來). In this perspective, sarvabijaka-vijñāna in Yugasajiron is no different from tathāgatagarbha (如來藏) in Neunggagyeong (楞伽經). His interpretation of the two objects perceived by ālaya-vijñāna, that is, the inner body and the external world, generally aligns with the theory of later Sungyushikron (成唯識論). In particular, his view was no different from Dharmapala (護法) in regards to the old debates over the body of others. According to him, one's ālaya-vijñāna only expresses the others' physical bodies and recognizes them as external world. In addition, explaining the continuity of external world based on the common-seeds (共相種子) in ālaya-vijñāna is not much different from the perspective of Sungyushikron. According to him, the outside world is experienced to have persistence because the always-inherited common-seeds constantly presents the image of the external world.
