초록
This study aimed to structure the subjective perceptions of tourism experiences among individuals in early adulthood and to identify the psychological and behavioral characteristics associated with each type. To achieve this objective, Q methodology was employed. The Q population was constructed from a review of the existing literature and written interviews, yielding 40 Q statements. Twenty-eight individuals in early adulthood who had engaged in tourism within the past year were selected as the P sample for Q sorting. Through principal component analysis and Varimax rotation using the Ken-Q Analysis program, four perception types were identified. These types were categorized as follows: 'Rest-Seeking Type', 'Freedom-Seeking Type', 'Self-Discovery Through Experience Type', and 'Memory-Recording Type'. The Rest-Seeking Type values emotional stability and psychological recovery; the Freedom-Seeking Type perceives tourism as a space for exercising autonomy and experiencing liberation. The Self-Discovery Through Experience Type regards tourism as an opportunity for self-reflection and personal growth, while acknowledging practical constraints. The Memory-Recording Type emphasizes the accumulation and documentation of meaningful experiences. By examining tourism experiences among early adults from a subjective perspective, this study demonstrates the necessity for customized tourism coaching and the development of programs tailored to these perception types.
