초록

This study systematically analyzes managerial coaching behavior centering on the manager coaching behavior model to examine the related variables of manager coaching behavior, and utilizs a meta-analysis method to systematically and quantitatively analyze each research result. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, 51 papers for meta-analysis were finally selected through the PRISMA guidelines, a research procedure for systematic literature review. The results of this study are as follows. First, this study was able to compare and analyze the size of manager coaching behavior and effectiveness. Second, in relation to the effect size related to the components of manager coaching behavior, relationship and respect were the highest. Third, it was possible to examine various effect sizes such as emotional effects, cognitive and technical effects, and performance in relation to the correlation by coaching effect of manager coaching behavior. Fourth, the effect size by industry showed a larger relationship in the service industry. Fifth, the effect size using Stowell's(1986) manager coaching scale showed a larger relationship than that of other scholars' coaching scales. The meaning of the results of this study is as follows. First, this study is differentiated from previous studies in that it conducted a meta-analysis on manager coaching behavior in detail is conducted. Second, it showed that it is important for manager coaching to provide direction and give feedback to a continuous relationship process with organizational members, away from competency development and performance-oriented coaching. Third, this study can be meaningful in suggesting the need to reexamine the effectiveness of manager coaching in the future through a meta-analysis of the effects related to emotional, cognitive, technical, and performance related to the effectiveness of manager coaching is suggested.
