神文王과 狼山
초록
King Sinmun of Silla established a ritual system excluding rituals for the emperor's ancestral rites, Heaven and Jongmyo (宗廟) Shrine. This was to improve relations with the Tang Dynasty. However, internally in Silla, “Naryeok (奈歷)” was organized as the largest ritual (大祀), and rituals were held for heaven and Jongmyo Shrine based on the Buddhist worldview, and through this, they tried to enhance the royal authority. Naryeok was a sacred place located in the Seupbi-bu (習比部), the administrative district of the Silla capital. Considering the spatial structure of the administrative division of the Silla capital, the Seupbi-bu is currently believed to be the area of Bomun-dong, Gyeongju, so Naryeok is considered to be the Nangsan (狼山) Mountain of Gyeongju. In Silla, Nangsan Mountain was worshipped as Doricheon (忉利天, Trāyastriṃśa), where Jeseok (帝釋, Indra), the best sky god, lived, since the construction of Sacheonwangsa (四天王寺) Temple. King Sinmun and subsequent succession kings all believed that Jeseok, the heavenly god living in Nangsan Mountain, was defending Silla's royal authority. In the end, it can be said that the ritual for Nangsan Mountain performed the same function as the ritual for the heavenly god and Jongmyo Shrine.
