부아부셰의 워크숍을 통해 배우는 자연과 인간의 공존 -연구자의 <정원> 시리즈를 중심으로-

초록

This study aims to delineate the interconnected relationship map among humans, nature, and art, drawing from my firsthand experience participating in a Domaine de Boisbuchet workshop. Additionally, it seeks to propose a constructive direction for art within the context of the Anthropocene era. This will be accomplished by analyzing my painting series titled <Garden>. The content and research method are as follows: (a) exploring the era of the Anthropocene, which conceptualizes a topographical map encompassing nature, humans, and art by examining works by contemporary artists who can be categorized as ‘art in the Anthropocene era’.; (b) the experience of encountering vast nature at Domaine de Boisbuchet was defined as a pivotal opportunity to contemplate the relationship between humans and nature. The projects undertaken amidst the workshop prompt reflection on the synergies emerging when nature and art intersect; (c) The motifs of ‘Life of Plants’ and ‘The Future of Symbiosis’, central to the <Garden> series, serve as keywords and comparisons along with analysis of contemporary artist’s works themed around plants are made to lay an esthetic foundation. Additionally, it analyzes the visual and conceptual changes reflected in the researcher's paintings after participating in the workshop from a formative perspective and envisions the future of coexistence with the research on preceding artists who have dealt with the symbiosis of nature and humans in their work. In today’s world, we grapple with significant challenges such as the climate change crisis, widespread destruction of nature, and environmental contamination. Our future appears somewhat bleak. However, by delving deeply into the relations between humans and the environment through artworks from the Anthropocene era, this research aims to find a positive direction for the future in the creative discourses proposed by artists through activities such as painting, performance, photography, and workshops. Lastly, this study hopes to provide clues on how we can form healthy relationships with nature and move towards coexistence, centered on the works of artists reflecting the Anthropocene era.
