인공지능을 바라보는 불교의 시선: 스코핑 리뷰

초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze Korean academic papers on Buddhism and artificial intelligence (AI) published between 2016 and July 2025 using a s coping review, and to present future research tasks. A total of 26 papers were collected and analyzed. The research topics were classified into three areas: (1) Buddhist interpretations of AI, (2) redefinition of Buddhist values in the A I era, and (3) development of AI-based Buddhist content. This categorization enabled an examination of developmental trajectories and technology use in Bud dhism–AI convergence. The study produced three main findings. First, existing research often remained within the traditional comparison of human and AI con sciousness, while discussions on hybrid posthuman beings need further explorat ion. Second, Buddhist education research was limited to fragmented program pr oposals, lacking systematic models and empirical validation. Third, although digi tal content such as counseling chatbots, meditation applications, and propagation apps has been actively developed, studies verifying their effectiveness through learner experience are scarce. Future research should therefore focus on Buddh ist reinterpretations of hybrid beings, the design of integrated educational mode ls linking AI-era competencies with Buddhist values, and the empirical evaluati on of digital Buddhist content.
