초록

This study investigates whether standard human resource (HR) inducements— specifically fringe benefit quality and remote work arrangements—yield universal outcomes across organizational sectors. Drawing on pooled data from the General Social Survey (GSS) waves spanning 2002–2024, our results reveal significant sectoral variations in how employees interpret and respond to HR inducements. In the public sector, the relationship between fringe benefits quality and job satisfaction is non-significant, while higher benefit quality correlates with increased turnover intention. Conversely, remote work acts as a high-value compensatory reward in the nonprofit sector, while its effect in the public sector remains insignificant. © 2026, Academy of Management.
