사회정서학습(SEL)과 불교 인성교육의 통합 가능성 -국내·외 연구 동향의 체계적 고찰 중심으로-

초록

At present, children and adolescents face challenges, such as emotional instability and limited self-regulation. Although Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) has improved academic and mental health outcomes, its Western-centered and short-term orientation limits the relevance in East Asian contexts. A systematic review of 21 studies shows that while domestic SEL research in South Korea focuses on the short-term effects, international studies demonstrate longer-term impacts. Findings revealed that grounded in the Eightfold Path, Buddhist character education is a sustainable alternative emphasizing continuous practice, reflection, and ethical living.
