Entrepreneurial Intention of Career-Interrupted Women Based on the Push-Pull-Mooring Framework: Focusing on the Moderating Effect of Perceived Women’s Entrepreneurship Support Policies

초록

This study analyzed the factors influencing entrepreneurial intention among career-interrupted women from the Push-Pull-Mooring (PPM) perspective and examined the moderating effect of perceived women's entrepreneurship support policies on the relationship between each factor and entrepreneurial intention. An online survey was conducted with 213 career-interrupted women, and the validity of measurement instruments was established through factor analysis and reliability analysis. Research hypotheses were tested using correlation analysis, hierarchical regression analysis, and Process Macro. The results showed that Push factors (re-employment barriers, economic necessity) and Pull factors (self-achievement) had a positive (+) effect on entrepreneurial intention, while Mooring factors (fear of failure, decreased self-efficacy) had a negative (−) effect. Notably, Push factors were not significant in simple correlation analysis but became significant in regression analysis, confirming a suppression effect, which demonstrates the complex interactive structure among PPM factors. These findings suggest that career-interrupted women consider entrepreneurship through complex motivations of self-realization desires and securing livelihood despite structural constraints and psychological difficulties. In the moderation effect analysis of perceived women's entrepreneurship support policies, no significant moderating effects were found for Push and Pull factors. However, the negative impact of Mooring factors was mitigated as the level of policy perception increased. This indicates that perceived entrepreneurship support policies function as a protective factor that reduces psychological constraints and plays a positive role in maintaining entrepreneurial intention. This study provides meaningful implications for women's entrepreneurship policy and entrepreneurship education program design by comprehensively verifying the structural and psychological factors explaining entrepreneurial intention among career-interrupted women and empirically demonstrating the buffering role of policy perception.
