| dc.description.abstract | 대학교에서 전공 교육은 특정 분야의 전문지식을 익혀 사회에서 전문가로서 활동할 수 있도록 하는 교육을하는 것이고, 교양 교육은 사람다운 삶을 살 수 있도록 하는 전인 교육을 지향한다고 한다. 그렇다면 사람다운것은 무엇이며 인간답게 산다는 것은 무엇인가? 인간답게 살기 위해서 사람은 무엇을 알아야 하고 무엇을 행해야 하며, 학교는 무엇을 가르쳐야 하는가? 이 문제는 동서고금을 막론하고 사회를 이루고 사는 인간에게 가장중요한 문제들 가운데 하나이다. 본 논문은 사람의 교육을 중시한 고대 그리스의 자유교양학(artes liberales)의이념과 그것을 이어받은 로마의 후마니타스(humanitas) 전통의 맥락을 짚어봄으로써 오늘날 우리가 추구하는‘교육의 근본으로 돌아가기’라는 교양교육의 지표를 확인하는 작업이다. | - |
