According to Jacques Lacan, all humans suffer from mental illness. Humans escape mental illness and reach subjectification through traverseedu phantasme. Lacan ’ s subjectification is a rebirth as the subject of pure desire, and Slavoj Zizek ’ s subjectification means a reform as the subject that seeks common good. Through the character ’ s journey to subjectification, the audience is affected by their unconsciousness. In addition, the audience experiences subjectification. But there are no subjective characters in the two films, <DEKALOG 5> and <A Short Film About Killing>. Kieslowski tries to add an impact to the audience ’ s unconsciousness by describing detailed murder scenes. The director ’ s intention is to make the audience realize how cruel murder by public authority is. This study analyzes Kieslowski ’ s two films by raising a question on ‘ Audience ’ s Subjectification ’ .-
