Ni-Co layered double hydroxides (LDHs) were synthesized via an ethyleneglycol-assisted sol-gel method, forming near-spherical structures with highly accessible surface layers. Uniformly deposited Au nanoparticles further enhanced electron transfer, resulting in a hierarchical hybrid catalyst with strong activity for 4-nitrophenol reduction and excellent potential as an efficient catalytic platform.-
