This paper aims to research and study about Native Americans realities in U.S. society by analyzing Native American author Sherman Alexie’s works particularly The Business of Fancydancing. For him, it is an essential mission recovering of their own customs and culture by themselves without any others’ judgments. He firmly believed in two factors, and one is Native Americans have had very long and vivid traditional cultures. Alexie is proud of their own sprits and culture which has never to be underestimated than any other culture. Paradoxically, the other one is some of their great cultures ruin the present Native Americans in this era. Even though their culture may be great, those things must have some points to be fixed in order to adjust and survive in this high technological and fast-changing era. Alexie also depicts in his works the cruel realities of the Indian reservation lives, so he urges Native Americans now must face up to their true realities and solve the problems. In this paper, I would like to compare the cruel realities and Alexie’s work, and I also try to find the way Native Americans’ situation can be proved.-
