- Abstract
- Inter-prediction in high-efficiency video coding (HEVC) provides higher coding efficiency at the expense of increased computational complexity compared with previous video coding standards. Presented is an efficient inter-prediction algorithm based on prediction unit pruning to reduce the computational load. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm achieves about 11% additional reduction in the inter-mode decision time when applied to a coding unit pruning algorithm.
