- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to investigate and analyze quality evaluation factors judged by agricultural wholesale market distributors to derive implications for quality evaluation priorities, to help farmers identify purchasing attributes and trends, and to effectively respond and negotiate.
To conduct the study, a detailed tomato evaluation factor survey was conducted on middlemen in the public wholesale market, and an AHP analysis survey was conducted on auction houses and middlemen. In addition, an AHP analysis survey was conducted on tomato specialty middlemen to analyze the important factors of quality evaluation for each variety.
According to the analysis results, tomato items were important in the order of internal quality, external quality, and shipping conditions, and hardness in internal quality, elasticity in external quality, and quality uniformity in shipping conditions were the most important factors. For each tomato variety, internal quality, external quality, and shipping conditions were also important, and sugar content was the most important for low and jujube cherry tomatoes, hardness was the most important for circular drops, red, and painted tomatoes, and elasticity was the most important for external quality and quality uniformity.
Therefore, it is necessary to secure competitiveness through a standardized process and joint selection to secure quality uniformity to ship tomatoes that meet the needs of buyers, and to secure marketing strategies based on important factors in securing production technology for each variety and shipping to the wholesale market.
