In this paper, I demonstrate that binding possibilities in the gapped RDC are not fixed but may vary depending on the context. It is shown that the presence of a proper antecedent plays a role in saving the otherwise unacceptable RDC by affecting the distribution of pro in the host. As a consequence, the saving effect is taken in favor of the ellipsis approach to the gapped RDC. I also discuss the saving effect that is affected by the overtness of appendices in the multiple RDC context, and suggest a direction towards an account. Finally, I provide an account for a certain asymmetry between the gapped RDC and fragments.-
