- Abstract
- Every platform used in the development of smart phone contents has a unique development environment. The need for platform-specific methods and languages entails extra development costs when content is created for a number of platforms. Smart Virtual Machine(SVM) is a virtual machine solution that is being developed to overcome this problem by using Smart Intermediate Language(SIL) as an intermediate language. SIL is capable of accommodating ISO/IEC C++, Java, Objective-C and other object-oriented programming. In this paper, we describe the design and implementation of an Objective-C compiler for the virtual machine. This compiler generates stack-based virtual machine code, not object code, when using content previously developed for use on other platforms. ©2013 International Information Institute.
