대학의 내발적 요인으로 바라본 캠퍼스 변용연구 - 세분화, 공동체 형성, 사회봉사를 바탕으로 한 배치계획을 중심으로

Abstract

Since the introduction of the modern university into Korea in the later 19th century, universities in the country have accepted periodic demands for more than 100 years and achieved development. At the initial stage of introduction, universities used to start in a building style school owned by the founders and then developed as the campus style university which is the US style. With such background of foundation, while the number of universities was very tiny due to the restriction policy during the Japanese colonial period, universities in Korea had experienced huge numeral increase from mid 1950s. Meanwhile, studies on university campuses have been classified its style by the geographical location (external factors). Different from preceding studies, this study set [inherent factors] of universities into 3 – segmentation, community formation, social service. In addition, the study classified campuses into 4 categories in relation to these 3 factors. Based on such assumption, the study examined transformation of university campuses in Korea and imposed new implications in the university campus planning.
