The aim of this paper is to analyze the meanings of the ‘黑+huhu’ forms shown in dictionaries and the ‘黑+huhu’ forms in corpus linguistics. Through a comparison of the two, the definitions of the modern Chinese ‘黑+huhu’ forms will be observed. The results are as follows: First, the ‘黑+huhu’ forms in the dictionaries were analyzed, and it was determined that the dictionaries do not reflect Chinese language. Some dictionaries show definitions that contradict common Chinese language use. In addition, there are some ‘黑+huhu’ forms that are not included in the dictionaries despite their widespread use in China. Second, there are three ‘黑+huhu’ forms defined in the dictionaries. However, one of the forms has a very low usage rate since there is a synonym that is more frequently used instead. Third, several Chinese characters replace the ‘huhu’ in ‘黑+huhu’ forms since they have the same pronunciation as ‘huhu’. This is closely related to the fact that the real meaning of ‘huhu’ is slowly disappearing.-
